And the Bronze Medal Goes To…

Jessica Pilz of Austria has secured the Bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and most people will agree that it is incredibly well-deserved. She is typically defined as a lead specialist due to her collection of gold, silver, and bronze medals in the lead discipline from international competitions. However, during these Olympics, Jessie definitely showed that she can hold her own on the bouldering mats.

Jessica poured her heart into the lead route, and it was incredible to witness a lead world champion performing in her discipline. And despite the pressure of being in the Olympic Finals, Jessica had a peak performance! It was heart-warming to witness the moment when Jessica came off the lead wall and realized that she would be on the podium – tears streamed down her cheeks and an (initially shocked) smile lit up her face.

I’m looking forward to witnessing how Jessie continues to dominate in climbing competitions in the years to come, and hope to see her back for the 2028 Olympics in LA!
