ABOUT.
Iris Wulfe is a folk singer-songwriter and guitarist based in Nashville, TN.
Iris grew up training as a classical violinist by day and a fiddler by night (she would often get on-stage with her accordionist father and fiddler brother to play songs like “Rocky Top” and “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”). But in the fleeting moments between schooling and practicing, she fell deeply in love with songwriting and wrote music in her bedroom, dreaming that one day, she would have the confidence to share her songs with others.
After dropping out of her violin performance degree at university due to chronic tendinitis, Iris discovered rock climbing as a salve for her aching wrists. And, of course, that ultimately led to her spending a significant amount of time in the outdoors. Nature became Iris’ escape when life got to be overwhelming and the future felt too uncertain, and her songs became inspired by the seemingly-unwavering steadiness of the woods.
Now, she is currently working on her debut EP, which touches on themes of nature, religion, and femininity.
